A testimony in which I wish to thank God for what Christian Science has done for me and for my family is long overdue. I have enjoyed its benefits since birth. Prior to her marriage, my mother took up the study of Science because of a healing her sister had had, and now the third generation of our family is in the Sunday School, demonstrating the healing power of Christian Science.
My aunt had undergone an operation for appendicitis and was suffering from the aftereffects. A fellow office worker who had become an earnest student of Christian Science told my aunt that she did not need to suffer and that she could be healed. My aunt had never heard of Christian Science, but she said she would try anything that offered hope of relief; so this friend took her to see a Christian Science practitioner that very afternoon. She left the practitioner's office healed.
Early in her married life, my mother experienced a convincing healing of extreme despondency and of a nervous condition. From that time her faith in Christian Science has never wavered. It was a bulwark in rearing a family of five children.
