CHRISTIAN SCIENCE declares that redemption from mental or physical bondage is now available to those who will accept the teachings of Christ Jesus as spiritually explained in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Deliverance from bondage through Christian Science constitutes the fulfillment of the Psalmist's promise (Ps. 130: 7), "With the Lord there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption."
The kingdom of God is now at hand, and His ideas, its happy, healthy citizenry, may appear from the mortal viewpoint to be too idealistic; but thousands of well-authenticated cases of redemption from sin, disease, fear, limitation, and other forms of human serfdom testify eloquently to the truth of the Christian Science position.
This Science comes to humanity, even as the Master said of his own coming, not "to destroy, but to fulfil" (Matt. 5:17). Its work is constructive, looking to the upbuilding in human consciousness of the kingdom of heaven here on earth. Christian Science assists the individual in his gentle emergence from subjection to matter into the freedom which accompanies a right concept of himself. It seeks to acquaint humanity with the great truth of Paul's assurance (Rom. 10:4), "Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth."
