Over twenty years ago, after we had been married for several years, it was our desire to have a family. This not having come about, I visited a physician who informed me that a medical adjustment would have to be made before I could have a child.
Some time before this I had witnessed a beautiful healing which my husband had had through Christian Science treatment. I told the doctor that I should like to try Christian Science first. The physician said, "It is impossible for this to come about, and I shall see you back here again."
I went directly from the doctor's office to a telephone and made an appointment with a Christian Science practitioner. The love she expressed will stay with me forever. She instructed me how and what to study. Through my visits with her, I came to realize that creation had nothing to do with me as a person because, as Mrs. Eddy tells us in Science and Health (p. 69), "Spiritually to understand that there is but one creator, God, unfolds all creation, confirms the Scriptures, brings the sweet assurance of no parting, no pain, and of man deathless and perfect and eternal."
