LET'S COME ALIVE!

From the January 1963 issue of The Christian Science Journal

When the truth of Christian Science is applied at the time of human birth, many medical beliefs concerning the conditions and stages of birth are reversed. The mother finds the process an ascendingly beautiful one culminating in the painless joy of beholding an idea of Life appearing to human view.

The mother who becomes conscious of herself as maturing into a wider, more complete sense of Life does not experience the errors attached by mortal belief to a maturing mortal. Her child is born in demonstration of God's presentation of His own image. On page 503 of Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy writes: "Immortal and divine Mind presents the idea of God: first, in light; second, in reflection; third, in spiritual and immortal forms of beauty and goodness. But this Mind creates no element nor symbol of discord and decay."

The reversal of mortal belief at the time of human birth illustrates the reversal of mortal belief which is possible in all phases of human experience. Every day can be a day of spiritual birth, a day when the beliefs attached to mortals—limitation, discord, selfishness, lawlessness, ugliness, disease, death—are overcome and "immortal forms of beauty and goodness" appear.
