Mary Baker Eddy discovered the Science of Christ—Christian Science. A vital point in this discovery is the nature of the Christ itself. Healing takes place through the understanding of Christian Science because that understanding includes the consciousness of the Christ in action.
In the platform of Christian Science given in the chapter "Science of Being" in the textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mrs. Eddy states, "Christ is the true idea voicing good, the divine message from God to men speaking to the human consciousness."Science and Health, p. 332;
Before her discovery, a divine message from God to men was generally thought of as a mysterious phenomenon. Christian Science reveals the constant flow of divine truths imparted by the divine Mind and now made comprehensible through Mrs. Eddy's revelation.
