I was enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday...

From the June 1971 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I was enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School at the age of three, joined The Mother Church upon leaving high school, and was active in a Christian Science organization at a university.

After entering business I experienced many years of continually unfolding success. During this period I put more and more effort into my business career and less and less into studying the teachings of Christian Science.

Some four years ago my company offered me a very large insurance policy. This necessitated my having a medical examination. The doctor who examined me stated that I was suffering from dangerously high blood pressure and must follow a course of medical treatment if I was to have any hope of being acceptable to the insurance company. With considerable reluctance I agreed to do this. My insurance was accepted, though at rates much higher than normal, and I found myself taking an ever-increasing dose of tranquilizers each day.
