Testimonies of Healing

Just eleven years ago I could consciously...

From the June 1971 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Just eleven years ago I could consciously feel the omnipresence and omnipotence of God when I wished to change my residence from one part of my native land to another. At that period it was very difficult to carry out this plan because the political situation appeared to be extremely unfavorable. I had not progressed far enough in my understanding of Christian Science at that time to be able to solve the problem alone. I knew only that God is Love and that He protects His children. The statement in "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God" gave me the necessary calm, as well as confidence in our Father-Mother God. One day, through the prayerful spiritual support of experienced Christian Scientists, the way opened to me. Filled with gratitude for the great blessing that came to me in this move, I count this experience among the most impressive in my young life.

Although I had had this experience and from then on had had ample opportunity to familiarize myself with the teachings of Christian Science, I repeatedly allowed myself to be diverted from the study of this Science. I was in good health, and financial worries were unknown to me. My interest in studying grew only when I became active in the various offices of our Christian Science Society. I must admit that I was not immediately ready for church work, as I felt I could not find the time for it. But in the course of my activities, especially as a Sunday School teacher, I was able to chalk up great progress for myself and my family.

The housing problem was solved in a marvelous way, and supply was in abundance. The words from John 14:2, "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you," had been verified, along with Mrs. Eddy's words from the textbook, Science and Health (p.7), "The 'divine ear' is not an auditory nerve. It is the all-hearing and all-knowing Mind, to whom each need of man is always known and by whom it will be supplied."
