In the Bible, Matthew writes concerning Christ Jesus, "Great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them." Matt. 15:30; In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy explains the method Jesus used for spiritual healing. She knew that the correct application of Christian Science could result in healings as effective as those performed by Jesus and his followers. She herself proved this in spiritual healings as outstanding as many of those described in the New Testament.
Students of Christian Science today are also doing excellent healing work. However, this question keeps arising: Can the healing work of Christian Scientists be better? Indeed it can be. One hears from many that only as the healing work becomes more consistently effective can we expect this movement to grow and meet the needs of those who turn to Christian Science.
Because Christian Science is the only permanent answer to mental and bodily freedom in all ways, it should be the purpose of every student of Christian Science to devote himself more unselfishly to the healing work and strive to rise to the spiritual heights from which he can see the manifestation of spiritual perfection right where mortal mind is trying to claim discordant physicality.
