I came into Christian Science nearly fifty years ago, and I have been blessed in many ways. When I count my blessings, they are like the sands of the sea, more than could be numbered. My first introduction to Christian Science was when I went on a holiday to Bangalore many years ago. I was then in very low spirits, as my wife had passed on, leaving three small children. I was led to visit a government library there in quite a miraculous manner. As I entered the library my eyes fell on a copy of the Journal. I read it through with great avidity, and in it I found the address of a Christian Science practitioner. I contacted her as soon as I could, and she guided my footsteps most tenderly. In due course I joined a group of Christian Scientists who met at a hotel in Madras.
During those early days I remember an outstanding healing. I was suffering severely from eczema on my face and on my feet, and I requested a consecrated student of Christian Science to pray for me. I was healed overnight.
I became an ardent student of Christian Science, spending many hours during the day and night in the study and practice of Christian Science; so much so, I had no other ambition in life than to be a good student of Christian Science.
