We can expect much more good to come of our relationships with each other. Each meeting with another person, or with many others, can be elevated above the merely mortal occasion where human personalities attempt to relate and communicate. Christ Jesus promised, "Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."Matt. 18:20.
May this not point to the potential sacredness of all our relationships with each other? Have we considered what it would be like if every time we met with others, we were aware of the presence of the Christ? Such a possibility of joyous meetings surely makes increasingly odious the animalistic push and shove, the one-upmanship and competition, of many day-to-day encounters.
Heartfelt turning to God opens the door to Christ and can make of every gathering a unifying occasion. Because Being is One—one God and His reflection, man including the universe— we can expect progressively better relationships and communication as a Christly atmosphere is established. This not only inspires us individually but enables us to work together more productively.
