From infancy Christian Science has met my needs, guiding and spiritualizing my existence. I am deeply grateful for the insight and steadfastness of my parents, who early enrolled me in a Christian Science Sunday School, and who lived the teachings of this religion. With such a foundation, I grew to depend on God. Truly, His care never fails.
These are some of the many blessings that have resulted from my study of God's law: quick healings of so-called children's diseases; a sense of confidence in doing academic work; protection from drowning and the subsequent freedom from fear of water; guidance in the choice of a career; rewarding employment; and the unfoldment of a harmonious marriage to a dedicated Christian Scientist. Also, Christian Science class instruction has opened new vistas for me, for I have learned more of my true nature as a complete, immortal idea of God.
I would like to relate one experience in detail because it may be of help to others. A few years ago I received a call from our local medical center informing me that my husband had been in an automobile accident and that his condition was critical. Immediately I turned to God for inspiration. The lines of the ninety-first Psalm came to me as they are paraphrased in Hymn No. 99 from the Christian Science Hymnal. The second verse reads:
