Although I have been a student of Christian Science for fifty years, I have never submitted a written testimony; so I am now correcting that omission.
I am grateful that I had a mother who was very spiritually-minded and that I was brought up in a Christian atmosphere. My sister and I were taught to rely on God for healing through prayer.
As a youngster I suffered from acute self-consciousness and shyness, and I had a stammer in my speech, which didn't add to my confidence. In my midteens severe acne developed on my face, neck, and chest. I tried a host of medical remedies without relief. At this time my mother learned of and accepted Christian Science for herself and encouraged and helped me in my own study of this Science. Eventually my mother became a Christian Science practitioner.
