My gratitude for Christian Science is boundless. I am most grateful for having been raised in a family where applying the teachings of this wonderful Science was our way of life and for the countless blessings received through my involvement in the Christian Science movement.
When I was in fourth grade, my schoolteacher detected that I was having difficulty seeing things clearly at a distance. She informed my parents. At home that night my parents and I discussed the situation, and we prayed to see that I was actually the perfect, complete child of God, right then! I worked specifically with "the scientific statement of being," found on page 468 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. My sight was fine after that, but I still feared that one day I would have to wear glasses.
In seventh grade I again had trouble seeing. I told my parents that I was having difficulty reading the chalkboard at school and asked them for their help in praying about the situation. I also called a Christian Science practitioner for prayerful help. I got glasses to help me see in school until the healing was realized, but I never accepted the glasses as a permanent part of me.
