The fact that "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble" (Ps. 46:1) was proved in my experience through a Christian Science healing that occurred in 1985; and with my healing came a greater sense of God's presence and a consequent reform in my life.
Prior to the healing, there had been two particular occasions when I had been very willful in order to have certain things done my way.
The day after the second occasion (a Tuesday) a tooth became very sore; and by the next morning a painful abscess had developed. My face also began to swell. Because the severity of it made it difficult for me to think clearly or talk properly, I felt it wise to call a Christian Science practitioner for prayerful help and to go home from my job until the condition was healed.
