On Monday evening, June 7, following the 1993 Annual Meeting, a special fruitage meeting was held in the Extension of The Mother Church. The meeting was hosted by Virginia S. Harris, C.S.B., Publisher of the Writings of Mary Baker Eddy, and Nathan A Talbot, C.S.B. Twenty church members from around the world told of their own experiences in reading Science and Health and of how they had felt its transforming power. Each of the seventeen languages in which the book is published was represented.
Speaking in their native languages, participants shared healings and inspiration from the platform. English translations of the testimonies were projected on an overhead screen for the audience to read; audio translations were also available for attendees to hear in French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish. These reports of fruitage included a healing of head injuries sustained in a car accident; a life of insecurity and illness renewed; a case of severe high blood pressure healed instantaneously; an infant healed quickly of a brain hemorrhage and inability to take milk.
Over the following months, the Journal will share with ... readers excerpts from these experiences and the central message that was brought out in this important meeting: that the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, is indeed healing and transforming lives all over the world, through the power of God and His Christ.
