Attending Christian Science Sunday School...

From the June 1996 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Attending Christian Science Sunday School has definitely been the most important part of my education. I have learned so many helpful truths that I am able to use when I need to correct my thought. God has always provided for our family many "right ideas." But the experience that was demonstration after demonstration of the power of Truth for me was the trip I earned to the State Fair in 1995.

I had taken my favorite cow, Top Gun, to the county fair as part of my 4-H dairy project. My whole family, especially my dad, was surprised when she won grand champion of the advanced cow class (she's six years old) and the State Fair lineup, and together we won the showmanship trophy! A few days later I received a letter in the mail stating that I was chosen to show cattle for a contest where 4-Hers judge different classes of cows. This meant that I would have to be at the State Fair—two hundred and fifty miles from home—a day earlier than the rest of my county's exhibitors.

We were able to arrange a ride for me with a friend's cousin. He was very nice the whole way. I realized that God would never put one of His children in unsafe hands. My biggest anxiety was the fact that I would be spending two days by myself, before my friends arrived. But I kept knowing that God would guide me to the right people to spend my time with. This prayer was answered when I met two 4-H ambassadors, a judging team from another county, and a few other really fun kids. I am extremely grateful for God's care.
