Last year I traveled to another state to fulfill a speaking engagement. I was staying at the home of friends in that area and woke early the morning of the talk to be ready for the day's activities.
After praying for myself as I always do and studying the Bible Lesson, found in the Christian Science Quarterly, I headed for the shower. I was not familiar with how to operate correctly my friends' showerhead device, however, and hot water scalded my chest. Then, in trying to jump quickly out of the way of the hot water, I slipped—falling heavily onto my back, bumping my head, and bringing the shower curtain and rod down on top of me. I was a sorry sight.
The praying I had done earlier that morning came to my rescue, and I began to recall some of the powerful truths I had read in the Bible and in Science and Health. I strongly declared to myself that I was not a fallen man or a sick man but God's perfect child, held in His love.
