I have had many instances of protection and healing and am grateful for having been brought up as a Christian Scientist.
When I was a child I had an overbite. The dentist was preparing to have a brace made for my jaw. At that time I was extremely interested in what I was learning in the Christian Science Sunday School and was thinking on the truths learned there. When I returned to the dentist for an appointment a few months later, he was surprised to find my jaw to be normal.
At one time I experienced periods of weakness and dizziness. Each time this occurred, a Christian Science practitioner was called for treatment through prayer and I received temporary relief. One afternoon during the Christmas season, I decided to go after work to the quiet, healing atmosphere of the Christian Science Reading Room downtown to study the Lesson-sermon (found in the Christian Science Quarterly) . But before our office closed there was a return of the dizziness, so I felt I had better go home and study there. When the bus approached the stop nearest the Reading Room, however, I was impelled to get off. At first I was so dizzy I could not see the print, but I continued to try to read. Slowly the print became clearer, and I had a very pleasant and uplifting two hours of reading and studying. That was the end of the difficulty, permanently.
