Wednesdays—full of wonder

From the July 1997 issue of The Christian Science Journal

To me, Wednesday testimony meetings in Christian Science churches are like a potluck supper—everyone contributes.

In testimony meetings individuals can tell how they have responded to Jesus' command "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matt. 5:16.

I have experienced healing, and I have seen others healed, at testimony meetings. I don't know anyone who would not be moved and uplifted by a heartfelt outpouring of gratitude or an account of a victory over sin, sickness, disease, or death. I have been to testimony meetings in many states and countries. Most of them were in a church auditorium, some were in Sunday Schools, some in Reading Rooms. One was in an old storefront. Sometimes I have felt that I didn't have time or simply didn't feel like going. But I have never regretted having gone.
