During my years as a student of Christian Science, I have experienced many wonderful healings of such diverse things as influenza, injured limbs, and severe airplane earaches, as well as protection from criminal activity that was aimed at me. It is with the deepest sense of thankfulness that I relate the following experiences.
After my birth, my parents noticed that I was not well, and they took me to the pediatrician. The diagnosis was leukemia. The doctor informed my parents that the situation was hopeless and that I would probably not live for very long. My father felt that since the doctor held no hope for my recovery, there was no point in my having anything further done. So they took me home.
My parents were desolate. As their only child, I was the apple of their eye. My mother called for prayerful treatment from a Christian Science practitioner. The practitioner prayed for a month, during which time I was not under medical treatment. After this time, my father was convinced by a co-worker that I should have the further medical tests, and so they took me back to the doctor. The doctor could find no trace of leukemia. I was completely healed. The joy and gratitude my parents felt were beyond words.
