It's The Most Natural, instinctive thing in the world to feel the love of God. Why? Because regardless of circumstances, the love of God for us has been a fact from the beginning of creation—throughout eternity. Our creator, God, has always been utterly delighted in us, satisfied with the complete goodness, the spiritual perfection, of His own self-expression, which is who we actually are. Dear God has not stopped being glad about us. This love of God is the reality of our life — the all-embracing, life-sustaining, thought-enriching reality.
When we speak of the beginning of creation, we need to be sure not to think of it as a point in time, long ago. In Science and Health, in a chapter titled "Genesis," Mary Baker Eddy discusses the term beginning in relation to its use in the Bible's book of Genesis, first verse: "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." She writes: "This word beginning is employed to signify the only,—that is, the eternal verity and unity of God and man, including the universe." And she goes on to say: "There is but one creator and one creation. This creation consists of the unfolding of spiritual ideas and their identities, which are embraced in the infinite Mind and forever reflected." Science and Health, pp. 502-503 True creation is the active manifestation of God's being, and this fact underlies all worthwhile activity. A few pages later in Science and Health is this statement: "Creation is ever appearing, and must ever continue to appear from the nature of its inexhaustible source." Ibid., p. 507
When we read that creation is ever appearing, do we think of that as mainly a statement about nature — about the renewal of spring, the fertility of summer, the color of autumn, and the strength and resilience of winter? These things can certainly point to the spiritual reality that creation is always appearing; but this is also a statement about us! Our divine origin, God, is the only living, dynamic force in our lives, and He continuously expresses His limitless, indestructible, wholly good nature in man, His likeness. Because this is the truth of existence, we can prove it. We can enjoy renewal hour by hour, moment by moment; we can be fresh, vital, and fruitful.
