RESTORATION and RENEWAL

A series of comments, reports, and reflections on the Restoration and Renewal Program at The Mother Church

Gifts of healing and love

From the August 1999 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Through the Restoration and Renewal Program, members and friends of the Church of Christ, Scientist, are showing their love for this Church, for its vital mission, and for all involved in responding to those seeking a more practical spirituality. As gifts of "love currency" See The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 14 have passed into the Restoration and Renewal Fund from around the world, they are frequently accompanied by notes and letters of gratitude for practical proofs of healing that have prompted financial contributions. Three such letters follow.

"Enclosed is my check for $...,a humble contribution to the Restoration and Renewal fund. Thank you for the beautiful progress update. Perhaps you will be interested in a healing of limitation I had which prompted this gift.

"About a month ago, my brother asked me to pray for him. After a few days, his gratitude for renewed health and restored well-being were expressed by giving me this generous check. I was tempted to think of the many ways I could put this to good personal use. Seems like the colorful brochure arrived about the same hour—good timing—with its joyous report of ongoing progress and also ongoing financial need.
