ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO my wife and I felt it would be wise for me to get a larger life insurance policy. As we looked into doing this, I was informed that there were several medical tests that had to be taken. These tests, which to most people would seem trivial, frightened me no end, and I immediately withdrew from the program.
I was concerned because I had been praying for over a year to heal a physical problem that seemed very serious. I'd never had it diagnosed, but it caused me great discomfort in my chest, and I had severe headaches that would put me in bed for several days at a time. During the year I had seen great progress in this situation. Science and Health points out, ". . . progress is the law of God, whose law demands of us only what we can certainly fulfil" (p. 233).
I realized that what I was being asked to do was to see myself as I truly am, the likeness of God, not a victim of the human body. With these thoughts and the treatment of a Christian Science practitioner, I was able to trust in God for my complete healing. The troubling symptoms soon disappeared.
