ARE YOU A PARENT?

How can I help these children?

From the May 2001 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In our February issue, we invited readers to share their thoughts about living with and learning from the younger generation. Here, Journal staffer Holly Hand tells about the bond she formed with a friend's adopted children.

I wrote them, telling them how special they were to God and to me.

THERE ARE MILLIONS OF CHILDREN around the world today who are either orphans or whose parents have given them away. Many people wonder how they can help children in these difficult situations. Adoption is an excellent way, but not everyone is able to be an adoptive parent. Yet we can all ask God to direct us as to how we can best help children.
