I'VE STUDIED Christian Science since I was quite young. I remember as a teenager poring over copies of the Christian Science Sentinel my mom received and looking forward to reading every testimony of healing. The good news of God's healing in other people's lives really made an impression on me, as it continues to do. Today I have many years of healing experiences in my own life and in the lives of my children to look back on.
I thought, "Who witnessed my fall? Did God?"
As a single parent for many years, I've come to rely on God's fatherhood and motherhood. These words from Science and Health ring so true to me: "Father-Mother is the name for Deity, which indicates His tender relationship to His spiritual creation" (p. 332). I can honestly say that God's goodness and His healing presence have made me understand that there truly is one Parent—one creative source—God.
