SEVERAL MONTHS AGO, I was riding my motorbike with another man on the back as a passenger when we collided with a woman who was running across the street. Though the woman and my passenger were not injured, I struck my face on the pavement and lost consciousness. When I awoke, I found myself in a hospital bed. I asked the friend who took me there what had happened, and he told me to be calm, that everything was going to be all right. Looking in a mirror, I discovered that I had serious injuries on my face, and I realized that my four front teeth were quite loose.
The doctor came in and found me in front of the mirror. He asked me how I was feeling. I told him that everything was OK. The doctor said I should get the teeth removed because they were very loose. Even though I was in a lot of pain, I told him I would be fine and asked to be discharged. The nurses bandaged my injuries, and I left. I continued praying, as I had been from the time I became conscious, affirming that I am the image and likeness of God and not an injured mortal.
When I got to my place, I opened Science and Health to page 424 where it says, "Accidents are unknown to God, or immortal Mind, and we must leave the mortal basis of belief and unite with the one Mind, in order to change the notion of chance to the proper sense of God's unerring direction and thus bring out harmony.
