From the May 2008 issue of The Christian Science Journal

1. Scott Preller has always had an abiding love of the Bible, which led him to earn a Master of Divinity degree in Biblical studies from Boston University. A teacher and practitioner of Christian Science healing, Scott lives with his family in Andover, Massachusetts, and is currently on the Board of Lectureship. Read his article "Since God Exists—What About Evil?" Page 26.

2. Christian Science teacher Lesley Gort loves spending time at the country cottage she and her husband, David, own in the northeast of England. On holiday, she enjoys reading novels in English and in French—a subject she taught before entering her Christian Science practice full-time in 1991. Lesley first became interested in Christian Science at a critical moment in her life, and her subsequent healing inspired her to dedicate her life to helping others through prayer. Page 37.

3. In 1986, Scott Davis had worked for a decade as a Seattle carpenter, and he felt the need for change. Davis chose to travel in the Middle East. Upon his return, he resumed a life balanced between carpentry and writing about his travels. His book The Road from Damascus is the first travel narrative on Syria by an American in more than a century. Page 39.
