A FEW YEARS AGO my husband and I traveled to Melbourne, Australia, to see the show Phantom of the Opera, and I paid a visit to a Christian Science practitioner. I had been bleeding for five weeks continuously, a condition that I felt was related to menopause. Although I had been able to go about my life pretty normally, and had been praying earnestly to heal the condition, I was becoming quite afraid.
While I do not recall all that the practitioner said to me, I do remember that she spoke assuredly of God and how much He loved me as His child. As I left her office the thought "How could I not be God's child?" rang joyfully over and over again within me. That was the end of the condition—I was fully and permanently healed—and I gained an insight into my spiritual nature as the loved child of God that I'll never forget.
