That happened to me in a big way back in 2005 when I spent ten days in Nairobi, Kenya. I wrote about my trip for the Journal (see "Road to Nairobi ... and Back (changed)," February 2006, p. 36). Soon after, I met
in Boston at a conference for Christian Science lecturers. (I wasn't a lecturer. I showed up as writer for the Journal.) Bosede and I bonded. Bonded in ways we never would have if I hadn't been to Africa.
