'We can't outgrow the Truth'

From the November 2011 issue of The Christian Science Journal

As I was listening to the children’s testimonies, and testimonies involving children, at an online Christian Science Wednesday testimony meeting, I found myself relishing the simple, childlike thoughts and spiritual truths that were being expressed. There were no fancy words, no intricate explanations—just clear reliance on the basic principles learned from Sunday School and parents. Love and expectation yield positive and quick results.

I began to wonder, How did things get so complicated for adults? But I was immediately led to reverse that suggestion. In my thinking, I began to claim my identity as the child of God and as His image and likeness. Such a feeling of innocence and peace came over me, and since then, I feel so much better knowing we can’t outgrow the truth about God or His reflection. If God isn’t aging or changing, neither am I. Reversing this feeling of being somehow distanced from Love has brought my thought back into His loving arms.
