At a time when I had been studying Christian Science for about four years, our younger daughter became quite ill. I had been praying earnestly for her, but she remained in bed, listless and quiet. This was not her usual lively behavior.
Both our daughters were seldom sick, and they had been quickly healed through Christian Science when there were health problems. But this time the younger one had missed two days of school, and the policy then required a doctor’s permission slip to reenter school if a child had been absent because of illness for three consecutive days.
