While in a local store one day, I saw displayed a beautiful steel claw hammer. Being a bit of a do-it-yourself enthusiast, I admired its design and quality of construction and decided to buy it. I was preparing to rebuild my front porch and eagerly looked forward to using it.
The day arrived when I was to begin working on the house. Using six-inch nails to construct the roof timbers, I had to use considerable force to swing the hammer. As I swung
toward a nail, I missed and struck down onto the back of one finger. I looked at it and saw it had burst open and begun to bleed. The pain was so intense that I thought it was broken.
My first thought was to stare at the injury and fuss. However, I resisted that suggestion and immediately declared there could be no accidents in God’s world, as He was my Father-Mother, who protects me in every moment, period. Because I knew this to be true, I reasoned that what my eyes were telling me was a lie, and I looked away.
