As a canoeing enthusiast, I’d seen many watercourses with beautiful reflections. Everything higher than the waters’ edge is mimicked on the surface.
One day while I was endeavoring to find healing from feeling unworthy and unsuccessful, I focused my prayers on trying to understand my own reflection as God’s child.
I remembered the Bible story where Jesus said to the sea, “Peace, be still” (Mark 4:39). And the surface gained the tranquillity necessary for reflections. I pictured myself as the reflection on the calm lake surface, recalling just how perfect and beautiful the reflected images appear.
