I feel I did not become a member of The Mother Church the day I filled out the forms, or even on the day I was officially accepted. I had really become a member in my heart much earlier.
When I became interested in Christian Science, I attended a few Christian Science lectures and was led to sometimes talk with the librarian of the local Reading Room in the south of France—Marseille. I had a strong curiosity, a thirst really, to understand more of Christian Science, and she lovingly answered all my questions. After reading Science and Health from the first to the last line, I went again to that Reading Room and asked how to become member of The Mother Church. I felt a profound unity with the declarations contained in the book, and becoming a member seemed so natural for me—just an evident step.
Becoming a member was to me like a cup of fresh water in the midst of the storm.
