To see the completeness of heaven, do you have to ascend?

From the November 2014 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Q: To see the completeness of heaven, do you have to ascend?

A: Your question indicates that you are already seeing some of heaven, the heavenly harmony of God’s supreme government, in your life—and that you would like to see all of it. And, yes, ascension, or spiritually ascending thought, is the means for that accomplishment, though it isn’t an all-at-once event.

Ascension comes daily as we turn to God for thoughts that lift consciousness above material appearances to the present reality of spiritual existence—an activity that brings more of heaven into our present experience in improved health, relationships, and productivity. When thought has ascended completely—when spiritual existence becomes so real to us that no materiality remains in consciousness—we will experience heaven completely. Christ and Christian Science show us the way.
