I would like to share a healing I experienced about ten years ago. I don’t know what the problem was, but one day my body seemed to shut down. I couldn’t think clearly, couldn’t read, and needed help with almost everything.
My husband was alarmed when he first found me like this and I didn’t respond to him. He called a Christian Science practitioner and then a Christian Science nurse. The nurse came to our home that afternoon and immediately recommended that I go to a Christian Science nursing facility where I could receive care.
This began a two-week stay that was to change my life. At first, I was aware of where I was, but not much more. I do remember that I had no fear. I wanted to understand my oneness with God, and I wanted to love everyone who was helping me. For the first few days, I didn’t sleep much, or do anything for myself except feed myself, although I ate very little. But the love that flowed all around me from the Christian Science nurses and practitioner was a powerful force—God, good, in action.
