January 1998 marks an important step taken to bring worldwide unity to the expression and recognition of the words Christian Science. From that time forward, the publications and activities of The Mother Church will begin to identify the term Christian Science in English only; it will no longer be translated into other languages.
This month, as a resource for readers, an alphabetical list of Christian Science practitioners, teachers, and nurses is included at the back of the Journal directory. The list contains the name, city, state/province, and country of each individual and serves as a cross-reference to the main directory.

Although reports of violence and child abuse regularly appear in our local papers, the major concern in our part of Australia, the Central Coast of New South Wales, is the ongoing loss of human life due to suicide.
