Again and again the Bible describes the grace of God as a gift freely given through Christ Jesus. Paul wrote to the Ephesians (2:4–8) : "God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ.
God is not limited; neither is His image, man, limited in his reflection of God. It is inconceivable that God, Spirit, could be bound or circumscribed.
" Oh how love I thy law!" sang the Psalmist, "it is my meditation all the day" ( Ps. 119:97 ).
The desire of sincere students of Christian Science is to gain more spiritual understanding and thereby to prove in ever-increasing measure the healing and regenerating power of Truth. Eagerly students search the Scriptures and the writings of the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, in their efforts to unite their thoughts with God.
Rare indeed is the individual who has not longed for a nobler, more beautiful life. The loveliness of nature and the exquisite forms of art, literature, and music awaken in mankind an earnest desire to understand and express beauty more fully.
" As mortals gain more correct views of God and man, multitudinous objects of creation, which before were invisible, will become visible," declares Mary Baker Eddy in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 264).
" When error confronts you, withhold not the rebuke or the explanation which destroys error," writes Mary Baker Eddy on page 452 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. " A study of the Gospels reveals that many times the rebukes of Christ Jesus destroyed error, healed the individual, and restored calm.
Christian Science treatment is safe and powerful because it is based on the Science of being—the truth that God, Love, is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient and that God and His creation are all that exist. There is no other creator or creation.
Most people readily perceive the damaging nature of animosity. But the equally harmful nature of a false sense of love, called personal attachment, is not always so easily discerned.
Under the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States the people are granted certain inalienable rights, such as freedom of speech and freedom to worship. These rights cannot be given away or disposed of even if one wished to do so.
