THE power of God as revealed and made usable in Christian Science operates directly upon the beliefs of material existence. The infinite wisdom of divine Mind, including spiritual vision and understanding, can be used for any good purpose by any individual, regardless of either youth or age.

TO what extent should one expect good in one's daily experience? Clear and practical instruction on this subject was given to Abram, when he was told to lift up his eyes from the place where he stood and look in all directions—to the north, south, east, and west, and the measure of his receiving was set forth thus, "All the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. " Abram knew the value of looking away from self and self-interests, for he had no apprehension of loss or lack when quieting the strife between his herdsmen and those of Lot, who saw only many cattle and the scarcity of pasturage and water for them.

MOSES, leading the Israelites out of bondage after Pharaoh had so reluctantly allowed them to leave Egypt, had journeyed, so we read in Exodus, from Succoth, "and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness. " Thus far the advance, though perhaps long and trying, had encountered no interference; the Lord had gone before them, a pillar of cloud by day and of fire by night, guiding them each step of the way.

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE has been revealed to restore "the bond of perfectness," the spiritual understanding of divine Love and its constructive operation in human affairs. Its means are purely spiritual, and its results are necessarily humanly evidenced.

CONTRASTING terms often serve to clarify views. There is no uncertainty in the Word of God, as voiced by Isaiah, "I the Lord speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.

IN the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" ( pp. 495, 496 ), Mary Baker Eddy, whom the world will in time recognize as the greatest benefactor of mankind since Christ Jesus, answers a question that frequently comes to the thought of the sincere student of Christian Science, namely, "How can I progress most rapidly in the understanding of Christian Science?" And her answer is in part as follows: "Study thoroughly the letter and imbibe the spirit.

IN the heart of one healed by the operation of spiritual law, as understood in Christian Science, gratitude rises spontaneously, albeit before his healing one may have had a slight acquaintance with this health-giving influence. Sincere gratitude begets love, and love must ever express itself in giving.
