Exploring in depth what Christian Science is and how it heals.

WOULD YE BE GOD'S CHILDREN?

THE Sermon on the Mount includes commands which must eventually be obeyed by every individual. Speaking as the messenger of God, Jesus voices with impressive simplicity the divine command, "Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.

PRINCIPLE, RULE, AND APPLICATION

THE idea of God entertained by most people before they find the light in Christian Science, is either entirely vague or an indefinable concept of a magnified man, with the attributes of so-called mortal mind. On page 465 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mrs.

MAN'S INALIENABLE RIGHT

DOMINION being God-bestowed, it is our spiritual and inalienable right and duty to exercise it, claiming freedom from material beliefs and influences which would hold us in bondage. Nothing, perhaps, is more reassuring and satisfying than the correct sense of dominion.

WHICH WAY ARE WE LEANING?

THE problem of lack is so worldwide that the Christian Scientist needs to do some clear, constructive thinking about it. Money claims, through its absence, to bring about conditions of poverty and limitation; whereas, scientifically speaking, the real man always has abundance.

TRIALS

Although the word "trial" in its original sense does not indicate such a signification, in one of its meanings it has become synonymous with "suffering. " In the epistle of James we find "tried" coordinated with "endureth temptation;" and in the same chapter we read, "God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man.

It also aroused various questions as to why healing in some cases is not more quickly brought about.

REFLECTION

" Few there are who comprehend what Christian Science means by the word reflection ," says Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, in her article "One Cause and Effect" in "Miscellaneous Writings" ( p. 23 ).

SUPPLY

ONE of the problems constantly confronting mankind is that of supply. The word "supply" is generally used to designate the specific requirement to meet the sense of lack of those commodities deemed necessary in human experience.

ABUNDANCE OF LIFE

IN the tenth chapter of John's Gospel we find this statement of Jesus: "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. " On another occasion he declared, "This is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

DISSOLVING WALLS

THERE are no barriers to the spiritual ideas or thoughts which proceed from divine Mind, for they are fetterless; nor can walls of mortal belief, however dense and thick they may appear, shut out God's power and presence or obstruct the operation of His law. In the very midst of seeming imprisonment within false belief, the door to right thinking will always be found open to individual receptive human consciousness.
