Exploring in depth what Christian Science is and how it heals.

OVERCOMING FEAR

IN the first epistle of John we read, "God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

SAVING GRACE OF JOY

WHILE it has been affirmed again and again that the spiritually-minded should also be the joyfully-minded,—and undoubtedly many have proved and are proving this at times,—there appears to remain almost unrecognized in dark corners of the human heart a strain of resistance to the manifestation of joy and happiness gained through spiritual understanding. Christian Science teaches that all good comes from God, that God is Mind and Love, and that man is the full and perfect expression of Mind; and this satisfying and true sense of God, coming to our age, has lifted thousands out of despair and disease into happiness, health, and security.

TRUE CIVILIZATION

WEBSTER defines "civilization" in part as "relative advancement in social culture. " The controversy of the age is between the belief that human knowledge in its various forms—in other words, intellect—can solve all human problems, and the understanding of the divine fact that God, Spirit, intelligence, has already done all, and that His creation has only to be understood and demonstrated.

WORK

THERE is probably no subject engrossing the attention of humanity more, or one upon which it bestows more consideration, than the problem of employment and unemployment. Relative to this question there seem to be two phases of belief: on the one hand, there is dissatisfaction with present employment, and on the other, inability to procure employment.

PRAYER

AN inventor creates nothing; he only utilizes natural laws, so called, which have ever been at hand, but not previously understood. Human unfoldment and progress are thus dependent upon the recognition and application of such laws.

PERFECT THOUGHT-MODELS

STUDENTS of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," cannot fail to note that Mrs. Eddy frequently emphasizes the necessity for forming perfect thought-models, in order that one may progress in the way of righteousness.

THE REAL MAN VERSUS THE COUNTERFEIT

GOD made man in His image and likeness, we are told in the first chapter of Genesis . Paul says of man: "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ.

"FOR SHE LOVED MUCH"

WHO can read the story of her who has been called Mary Magdalene, as recorded by Luke, without being helped by her unselfish devotion, loyalty, and faithfulness to Christ Jesus, who cast out of her seven devils, or errors. So complete was her healing from sin that in her regeneration she presents an outstanding example of true Christian discipleship.

"BLESSED ARE THE MEEK"

IN that most wonderful of sermons, the Sermon on the Mount, we read these simple words of Christ Jesus: "Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. " With how little understanding have men sometimes read these words! A so-called meek person has commonly been regarded as possessing few, if any, of the qualities of manliness.

SALVATION NOW

THE salvation of the world through the loving provision of our Father-Mother God, is a certainty disclosed by Christian Science. However ignorance, indifference, procrastination, skepticism toward this great fact may be manifested by mortals, they have ever before them the inescapable experience of discarding false material beliefs and acquiring a demonstrable understanding of spiritual existence.
