I became acquainted with Christian Science when I was dating the man who later became my husband. He had attended a Christian Science Sunday School when he was a child, so when he saw the challenges I was facing, he gave me a copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.
In the past insecurity, internal pressure, and fear accompanied my life. But about three years ago, the fear increased to such a depressing condition that it needed to be solved.
Early last year, I started to have a skin condition, which caused me much itching and irritation. As I had always resorted to prayer in Christian Science and obtained good results, I began to pray by turning my thoughts to God.
To me this passage by Mary Baker Eddy in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures : “As a man thinketh, so is he” ( p. 166 ), in reference to the Bible verse from Proverbs 23:7 , refers not only to our being, but also relates to every condition and circumstance in life.
Perhaps you live in a part of town that’s a haven of tranquility, where you’re never bothered by noise of any kind. But such is not the case for everyone.
