WHEN a case is tried in a court of law the witness is a most important factor in the result, and a good witness may largely influence or even determine the verdict of the jury. The witness is selected for his knowledge of the facts and his identification with the interests of the litigant on whose side he testifies.

As a closing benediction to each Sunday lesson the Scriptural reference from I John, 3 , gives happy assurance that "now are we the sons of God," and would further imply that this relationship becomes apparent as we grow "like him,"—God-like in consciousness.
