A Sense of discouragement often does much to prevent the demonstration of Truth, and retard our spiritual progress. To overcome this error is a most desirable and important work, and whatever gives assistance in this direction bestows a lasting benefit.

A REFUTATION

Some newspapers recently published statements purporting to have been made by a pastor of one of the Churches of Christ, Scientist, in New York to the effect that Rev. Mary Baker Eddy was the female Christ, or feminine Deity.

CHURCH AND SCHOOL

Humbly , and as I believe, Divinely directed—I hereby ordain, that the Bible, and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, shall hereafter be the only pastor of the Church of Christ, Scientist, throughout our land, and in other lands. From this date the Sunday services of our denomination should be conducted by Readers, in lieu of pastors.

Among the various other contributions to the Mother Church...

Among the various other contributions to the Mother Church were ten "contribution boxes," or rather baskets. They are made of bamboo cane and are very light; the handle is so constructed that it slides back and forth in a groove and may be lengthened or shortened as occasion requires.

THE HOME

THE word Heaven has, to the Christian Scientist, a new meaning; so Home means to us more a condition of mind, than a place. We are at Home, now, when we know that "In Him, we live, move and have our being;" when we come into a full realization of this, we shall be in Heaven.
