Exploring in depth what Christian Science is and how it heals.

God with us

It is wonderful to know that God is here and with us every moment. Last year, I was walking downtown doing a few errands.

Always start with God

For the past couple of years, I have belonged to a fitness center. One day I was working out, and there was a group of women having a conditioning class not far from me.

A lovely reminder

One morning, I had a tight schedule. I woke up early to get in my cycling workout before a meeting at work.

Personality and paper dolls

I was intrigued when I first read this statement by Mary Baker Eddy in a letter to one of her students: “There is no personality, and this is more important to know than that there is no disease” ( Yvonne Caché von Fettweis and Robert Townsend Warneck,  Mary Baker Eddy: Christian Healer, Amplified Edition, p. 229).

Lifted by Love

My friend was going through a time of reflection about his life. I could tell he wanted to confide in someone, so I just let him let it out.

The simplicity of Truth

Though Christian Science is profound , it requires only a simple, childlike acceptance of Principle. Paul wrote, “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ” ( II Cor.

A historian’s perspective

As a historian of Christian Science , one of the most illuminating and fundamental truths I have learned is that as useful as historical work can be, a perception of Mary Baker Eddy’s role can be gained only by spiritual study and prayer. In fact, an emphasis on her personal history can even interfere with this perception.
