Destroying tyranny, one day at a time

Paul Tillich , among the greatest Christian theologians of the 20th century, wrote 112 pieces for the "Voice of America," to be broadcast into Nazi Germany between March 1942 and May 1944. Defense against extremism

Several commentators have mentioned that September 11 of last year reminded them of the attacks on Pearl Harbor of 50 years ago. There are some similarities in the posturing and in the excessive attitudes of hate and revenge.

'... a book that will help you your whole life'

My parents have told me about my first healing through Christian Science, which occurred when I was a two-year-old hospitalized with a life-threatening illness. Of course I was too young to remember the details, but Christian Science apparently saved my life.

Winning mental combat—on the squash court

When I was a teenager, I took karate lessons, not to become an expert fighter but for the athleticism, discipline, fellowship, and self-control involved. I've never forgotten something my sensei (teacher) told us about the mental attitude one should have during karate competitions.

Win and wear the gold

In every Olympics, the athletes' ability to defy limits and achieve new standards of excellence inspires people the world over. Each gold medal represents a triumph of beauty, strength, and courage.
