Exploring in depth what Christian Science is and how it heals.

When we love something in common, we can enrich each other by seeing the object of our affection through another's eyes. This is certainly true for lovers of the Bible.

Fellowship with other Christian churches

It Was My First Meeting with a group of representatives of local Christian churches. As we were introducing ourselves and giving a brief explanation of our churches, I grappled with what to say.

I'm here to serve God!

At One Time my branch church held testimony meetings at noon on Wednesdays as well as in the evening. As the Reader conducting the service, I had worked out a schedule with my employer so that I could leave fifteen minutes before noon and arrive back to work fifteen minutes past one.

Sharing a love of the Bible

A Mission In My City maintains eleven houses for the homeless. One day my husband and I took clothing, children's books, and other articles, along with a small donation, to the mission office.

A privilege in our time

In A Greeting to Mary Baker Eddy from the Annual Meeting of her Church in 1905, members wrote the following about the Extension of The Mother Church: "We rejoice greatly that the walls of our new edifice are rising, not only to faith but also to sight; that this temple, which represents the worship of Spirit, with its inseparable accompaniment, the Christ-healing, is being built in our day; and that we have the privilege of participating in the work of its erection. These Words Came from a longtime member of our branch church in Naperville, Illinois, as a result of response received from the public after we hosted the Traveling Historical Bible Exhibit from The Mother Church. "We've got to listen more"

Serena Hutchinson-Brooks is a well-traveled Australian who loves "people, animals (especially dogs), old movies, going out dancing, and chatting with friends in cafes. " Over several months, our News Editor, Kim Shippey, enjoyed a "talk about" with Serena through e-mail, and on the telephone to Australia and to England, where she is now working as a business consultant.

Healing and words—what's the connection?

Some People Are Skeptical when they hear about metaphysical healing, because they don't believe words or thoughts alone can heal. They have heard, perhaps, that those who study the teachings of Christian Science claim a person is healthy when he or she is obviously ill—that they say "all is well" when the physical evidence is just the opposite.

"It really works!"

This account was originally published in The Herald of Christian Science (Greek Edition). After Reading the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy for the first time some years ago, I was filled with enthusiasm and love.
