During the thirty -ninth annual congress of Vision New England in Boston in February, there was much talk among the eleven thousand participants about "healthy churches" and "growing churches" and even "perfect churches."
But our News Editor, Kim Shippey, reports that one of the speakers focused instead on the responsibilities of church members. He was Dr. Howard G. Hendricks, who has ministered in more than seventy countries over nearly fifty years, and is chairman of the Center of Christian Leadership at Dallas Theological Seminary in Texas.
Dr. Hendricks emphasized that the "Early Church" about which we read in the Scriptures was not a perfect church. It was a progressing, purposeful church.
