THE WORKPLACE

Am I about "my Father's business"?

In the middle of intense job competition,
I asked myself an important question.

From the July 1999 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In one office where I worked, I found people saying, "I will not get a promotion, because I do not get along with the head of the organization. I do not know what on earth would make my boss happy." Whenever I am faced with frustration or dissatisfaction at work, complete reliance on God's government helps me replace worry with inner calmness.

We can, like Jesus, be about our Father's business. See Luke 2:49. We can ask ourselves, Am I performing the duty expected of me by our Father-Mother God? Am I striving to reflect

His qualities all the time? Do I love my fellow workers and see them as God made them?
