Along with many other deep-thinking people of the world, Christian Scientists recognize God as the all-embracing power and presence of the universe. Yet many of them can do much more to see God's law of harmony as everywhere active, as applicable by all men in every situation.
A branch Church of Christ, Scientist, was having difficulty meeting its financial obligations. There were also other kinds of lack in the church.

It is likely that everyone who reads this either lives in or near, or in some way depends on, a large city. It is also likely that this city is facing severe problems.
In Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures Mary Baker Eddy makes this thought-provoking statement: "In all mortal forms of thought, dust is dignified as the natural status of men and things, and modes of material motion are honored with the name of laws . " Science and Health, p.
"If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
The Christian Church was born on the Day of Pentecost—fifty days after the last Passover celebrated by Christ Jesus. Continuously occupied in deep, unified prayer, the disciples had been waiting for the coming of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth, promised them by their Master.
