When my husband and I put our house up for sale, we prayed, and a buyer was found quickly. But now we had to find our new home. The place we were leaving was very special to us, and our budget to buy a new place was not so big. On top of that, we were being led to an area that seemed a lot more expensive.
Real estate agents were telling us of prestigious addresses, properties that were in the “right area,” investment properties, and houses that had “street appeal.” They also warned us of the competition in housing and the difficulty of finding what we’d need.
At first we looked for what we thought we wanted in a home, such as proximity to the beach. When our search seemed futile, I was tempted to fear that we wouldn’t find a place. But we’d proved before that there are no limitations on God’s ability to provide for His children (see “Prayer on the Apartment Hunt,” Christian Science Sentinel, September 19, 2011, p. 18).
